How to Build a Skin Care Routine?

Skin Care Routine

We all have our habits and rituals, from how we like our morning coffee to how we get curled up in bed. Building routines into our day does more than help keep us focused.

If you’re new to skincare routines or looking to improve your current one, the vast number of skincare products, techniques, and ingredients out there can feel overwhelming.

Why Should You Even Have a Skincare Routine?

Building a skincare routine—and regularly following it—is sometimes easier said than done. Everyone’s life is busy, and removing our makeup before bed is the last thing on our minds. But regularly following a routine takes the stress and guesswork out of applying your products, so your habits can be easy and fun. Besides, skincare routines have essential health benefits. It is very important to have a skincare routine to keep your skin’s natural defense barrier functioning properly and to work on preventing any extrinsic damage.

Which kind of products should you use?

You’re unique, so everyone’s skincare routine is. Different products, including cleanser, toner, moisturizer, serum, eye cream, night cream, and a product with SPF, variates with different people. Furthermore, the type of skincare products you use depends on your skin type and your skin’s specific needs. There are different products for dry skin, oily skin, combo skin, etc.

Your Step-by-Step Morning Skincare Routine

Your morning skincare routine is supposed to refresh your skin and protect it from outside elements you might face throughout your day, including wind, UV rays, pollution, etc.

Step 1: Cleanser

Starting your morning skincare routine with a face cleanser/face wash is the best way to remove any impurities that may have entered or left your pores and settled on your skin. Many people sweat while they sleep, and it’s important not to let that stick to your skin and clog your pores. If you applied retinol the night before, it’s important to cleanse it off the next morning gently.

Step 2: Toner

The efficacy and needs for toners are often debated—some swear by it, and some never use it at all. Toners can be very effective in tightening pores, exfoliating dead skin cells, and prepping your skin to maximize the benefits of products to follow.

Today’s toners are very more gentle, soothing, and less harsh-smelling than older formulas. You should always apply your toner after cleansing after cleaning your face (setp:1) and before your serum.

Step 3: Serum

There are tons of serums in the market, like Clovia Vit C Skin Brightening Face Serum. No matter what your skin type, these highly-concentrated formulas can probably help address it. Serums have a smaller molecular weight than moisturizers and can help target certain concerns you may have. Consider serums as mighty molecules that dive deep into your skin to treat and defend your skin throughout the day.

SerumStep 4: Moisturizer and SPF

While most effective moisturizers contain SPF on the market, there is also nothing wrong with applying the two products separately. If you want to help prevent showing signs of aging, SPF is the best thing you can use. During winters, choosing a more hydrating SPF can be helpful. If you’re using moisturizer and SPF separately, always remember to apply your moisturizer first, followed by your sunscreen.

Step 5: Lip Balm

It is very easy to forget about them, but your lips need just as much attention and protection as the rest of your skin. Swiping on a lip balm is an effortless way to keep your lips from drying, and boost hydration. It also prevents flakiness. Consider applying lip balm as the last step in your skincare routine and the first step in your makeup routine. Let your lips soak up the moisture so when you put on your lipstick; your lips will already be smooth and hydrated.

So, here was everything you need to know about skincare and how to build your skincare routine. Always make sure you use the right products which suit your skin perfectly. And no matter what you use, your smile will always steal the show!
