Do I really need to wear a bra?

Generally, girls are taught to wear a bra at the age of 11 or 12. But age isn’t the only factor that plays a role in deciding whether or not a girl should wear a bra. It’s the body that calls for the need; some girls develop breasts at an early age of 8 whereas others might not need until the age of 12. So depending on body type and hormonal changes a girl would need a bra at different ages.

But not wearing a bra at all isn’t the best option. Little did you know it can be very hazardous for your health.  Let me walk you through a list of troubles that you are inviting by not wearing a bra.

1. Saggy Breasts

Sagging is the most common issue faced by women which is caused by age and gravity. Women with heavy breasts understand the problem best.Wearing a brassiere everyday helps in shaping the breasts and gives them a rounder shape. It has also been experienced that women who wear bras regularly have firmer breast tissues as compared to women who don’t wear them at all. Although, wearing an underwired bra can help in uplifting the breasts and making them look perky. But not wearing a bra at all can cause sagging and make your breasts look shapeless over a period of time. I’m sure that’s the last thing you would ever want!

2. Poor Posture

It has been noticed that women who wear bras have a better posture than women who don’t wear them at all. Bras have never been the cause for bad posture, unless you are wearing the wrong size. They are thoughtfully designed in a manner to support your breasts while keeping your shoulders, back and ribs at ease. But if you are wearing the wrong size or style it can lead to poor posture. A bra with broader shoulder straps and side wing can provide you the right support and improve your posture like never before.

3. Damaged Breasts Tissues

These days exercising has become a part of our lives.  A morning walk, a yoga session or an exhaustive work out at the gym- nothing should be done without a sports bra. If you practice any such activity without a bra you are mostly like to damage your breasts tissues. Not wearing one during exercise may result in breasts and back pain leading to critical health problems.

However it has been advised that you should go to bed braless for a good night’s sleep!
