Meet the Laziest, Easiest Skincare Routine for Acne-Prone Skin

Does acne seem like a never-ending battle? Have those annoying red bumps become unwanted guests? Do you want to get rid of them? Then, what you need, my friend, is a correct skincare regime for acne. However, it is troublesome to make extra time for a skincare routine in this constantly changing world. Hence, we look for quick solutions and use strong drugstore products.

These products might help give quick and effective results on the surface, but they damage the skin from the inside. So it is best to incorporate natural products. Regarding the time, it is simple. Add fewer steps to your skincare regime to achieve healthy, glowing and acne-free skin. So here I am offering you a super quick morning and night-time skincare routine to keep acne at bay.

Morning Routine

Step 1: Wash Your Face

Washing your face every morning is the first and most crucial step of every skincare routine. Every person should wash their face at least once a day, especially if they have acne. To get rid of the greasy layer off your face, you need to use a facewash rich in acne-fighting agents. Unfortunately, some acne-fighting agents dry the face and feel harsh on the skin. Instead of healing the acne, it disrupts the skin’s protective barrier leaving it vulnerable to breakouts post every wash. Hence, it is best to stick to a skin-friendly natural face cleanser. It gently dissolves excess dirt, bacteria and oil without stripping natural oils. I suggest using Skivia Anti-Acne/Pimples Natural Face Wash.

Step 2: Moisturise

It is a common myth that oily and acne-prone skin doesn’t need moisturisers. However, the oil glands overcompensate for the lack of moisturising by producing more oil and sebum. As a result, it leads to clogged pores and overly greasy skin. This is something which you definitely don’t want. Hence, to keep your skin balanced and hydrated, use oil-free and lightweight moisturisers. For dry and combination skin types, use lotion-based formula. On the other hand, it is best to use gel-based formulas rich in hydrating elements like glycerin and hyaluronic acid for oily skin types.

Step 3: Wear SPF

The pimples and acne often leave annoying acne scars and marks behind. These annoying marks linger on the face for weeks. These scars worsen due to UV exposure from the sun. Hence, pretty please layer your face with sunscreen every morning, no matter if you are stepping out or not. Wearing sunscreen is a must. For acne-prone skin types, make sure to use a non-comedogenic formula.

Night-Time Routine

Step 1: Wash Your Face

Beginning with the night-time skincare regime, firstly, you need to wash your face before going to bed. Use the same face wash you used in the morning to eliminate all the gunk accumulated on your face all day. Also, if you are wearing makeup, it is mandatory to remove your makeup beforehand.

Step 2: Apply An Acne Treatment

The acne treatment is serums or gels equipped with active ingredients to heal and prevent breakouts. Acne treatments work slowly, but it gradually minimises the appearance of acne. Initially, these treatments are applied on alternate days or twice a week, but slowly, the skin develops a tolerance and works rapidly. Some of the best ingredients to add to your night-time anti-acne skincare regime are salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and niacinamide.

Use salicylic acid or adapalene if you spot blackheads or whiteheads on your face. Salicylic acid dissolves the excess oil and dead skin cells that clog pores. To deal with inflammatory acne effectively, try using benzoyl peroxide or niacinamide. Niacinamide is also known as vitamin B3. It minimises inflammation and discolouration while balancing the production of oil. For effective results, my best bet would be Oil Control Face Serum with Niacinamide & Salicylic Acid by Skivia.

Step 3: Moisturise

Allow the acne treatment to sink into your skin for a minute or two. Then once again, moisturise your skin. Use the same moisturiser used in the morning skincare regime to keep it plump and hydrated. Before you ask, please do not, I repeat, do not use any night cream separately. Most night creams come with active ingredients, which might overload your skin and lead to skin irritation. Always keep in mind, don’t overdo things. Excess of anything can be lethal. Also, avoid mixing and matching too many things all at once to get results faster.

I am a great fan of natural products that effectively heal and nourish the skin. Hence, I suggest checking out Clovia Botaniqa Skincare products. All Clovia products are free from toxins, sulphates, parabens, and silicones. Furthermore, each product is carefully formulated using the principles of Ayurveda.
