Stay Hot With These At-Home Fitness Tips
Still dreaming about that hot summer. Dreams don’t work until you put some effort. Now it’s time to stop dreaming about it and start working on it.
Taking care of our body is the number-one way to help us combat and navigate these times because it’s all we really have. If we don’t have health and wellness, we don’t have a good life. Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you can’t bust a move. And considering the lockdown situation, we actually could really use all that time. From workout routines to ways to stay zen, read on for how to have a healthy, hot summer body at home.
Warm-up
Whether you are opting to walk, jog, skip or cardio machine, these exercises and other cardio-intensive exercises will help you to burn calories as well as speed up your metabolism. Aim to complete these three to five days each week for at least 30 minutes before your work out.
Weight training/conditioning
When you boost your muscle mass to your body composition, you actually burn fat. Most women are worried that exercises such as weightlifting will cause them to bulk up and look manly. males and their muscles won’t grow that big, but become lean and toned instead. But that’s not the case. Women have far less testosterone, weight training and/or conditioning exercises such as squats, deadlifts, lunges, weight machines and dumbbell exercises are an important part of your routine for several reasons. These exercises target multiple muscle groups, builds lean muscle, as well as increases strength and stamina.
Abdominal exercises
Abdominal exercises are ideal for anyone who is working to achieve a hot summer body. Not all women are satisfied with their bellies. Even if your stomach muscles get stronger, there is often a layer of fat over them, which you desperately want to get rid of. To succeed, you need to do a variety of exercises that focus on your entire core, rather than working out endless rounds of sit-ups. Instead of that include exercises such as sit-ups, planks, leg raises and oblique crunches, for example, because these will blast fat in the midsection. The midsection is crucial to how your bikini, crop and other fashion outfits you decide on will fit.
Stretches
Stretching is so underrated but it is a very important part of your fitness journey. Stretching helps you to relax, helps with flexibility, reduces injury and soreness.
It is best to stretch before you start your work out, then again after you have finished. You also want to make sure that whatever stretch you decide to incorporate in your workout target the muscles that you use most.
Low-intensity cardio
To finish your workout, consider low-intensity cardio – these are exercises that do not raise your heart rate very high, such as walking, yoga, swimming or riding a bike. These activities also help you to burn calories and do not put pressure on your joints.
Look into your dietary pattern
Diet is of highest importance when it comes to trimming up your summer body, and instead of skipping out on meals, try eating a substantial amount of healthy natural foods, rich in nourishment but low in calories. You should aim to support your body nutritionally while you get fit and prepare to sculpt it. The first thing you want to do is reduce your calorie intake and this includes cutting back on foods such as fried and/or fast foods. Instead, you should eat lean protein such as chicken, fish and paneer, and reduce your empty carbs intake. Importantly, remain hydrated always.
Rest
An important part of the workout that many people forget is to rest. Rest is necessary because it facilitates the body’s recovery process. So aim to get the recommended eight hours of sleep each night.
